Ubisoft 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T - Precision Car Restoration
Ubisoft 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T

Ubisoft 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T

Ubisoft brand manager Tom Yu, contacted Precision Restorations Client Service Manager Jon Hantsbarger in January 2011.  They were looking for a company to locate, purchase and build a custom 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T that would mimic the “Hero” car that was in the soon to be released game “Driver San Francisco”.  PR worked with client to locate and purchase a plum crazy 1970 Dodge Challenger SE.  Once the vehicle was purchased PR had the vehicle transported from CA to their Saint Louis facility.  Precision then spent the next four months transforming the Challenger into the vehicle from the upcoming game.  The vehicle was built with two purposes.  First purpose is for the vehicle to externally mimic the look of the Challenger for the game.  The second purpose was to build an audio/video system into the vehicle that would allow consumers to try out the new game while looking the vehicle over. This vehicle will be debut at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles CA, June 7th-9th.  After that the vehicle will tour around the country to show a different convention centers and game retailers.  Once they are done with the vehicle it will be raffled off.

External build outline:

  • Stripped vinyl roof from project vehicle as the vehicle in the game did not have one
  • Replaced roof as PR found that was severely rusted underneath the vinyl
  • Added a shaker hood and scoop to mimic vehicle from game
  • Added pedestal spoiler to mimic vehicle from game
  • Repaint vehicle in Pantone Yellow with black r/t side stripes and black racing stripes

  • Flip out 7” DVD screen in the dash
  • 40” LCD TV in the trunk.  It is attached to the underside of the deck lid and can be viewed when the trunk is opened
  • Playstation 3 in the trunk
  • Two amplifiers (one to power the subwoofers on to power the other speakers)
  • Two infinity 10” subwoofers mounted in the fiberglass enclosure on either side of the trunk
  • 2 sets of 6×9 speakers, one set is installed in the package tray one set is in the trunk for sound when consumers are playing the game.
  • Ac/dc invertor mounted in trunk, this will allow the vehicle to be powered by any building outlet
  • Audio mixer in the trunk.  This will allow Ubisoft to add PA speakers or mics at any event
