1968 Corvette

This car is the real deal; numbers matching, 427, 4 speed convertible. It’s hard to fault a car like this! The customer bought it at auction, and asked us to take it to the next level. One item that needed restoration on this Corvette was some paint blemishes. There were some scratches and cracks in the front half of the car, and not the back.

In an effort to help the client control expenses, he asked us to paint only the front half of the car, to the rear door jambs. We explained that our color match would be great, but that the repair would be apparent to an expert. Normally our big challenge is the clearcoat; ours looks so good it’s hard to buff up the other makes of clear to match.

Our restoration work also included a laundry list of mechanical issues, engine performance, suspension items, and rear differential work. We also disassembled the convertible top mechanism and bows and restored them to the same standard as the rest of the car…very high!
