Stock Restorations, Restomods, & Pro-Touring
First, it’s important that we define a few terms. Stock restorations refer to cars built solely with original parts. The intention of a stock restoration is to return a car to the way it was when it was brand new –– as if it had just come off the assembly line. Restomods and pro-touring classic cars, by contrast, involve both restoring a vehicle through traditional practices and also modifying it with new parts. This means that these classic cars contain both original and aftermarket parts. A few ways car owners typically update classic cars include:- Modern brakes
- Power steering
- Fuel-engine modifications
- New transmission
- Coil-over shocks
